Third-party lists, not vendors’ own service pages — at least on the surface we measured. On 2026-08-03 we ran a pilot of our fixed prompt battery in Perplexity (clean anonymous session, English). On “Best healthcare SEO agencies,” the answer was a table of eight agencies, and the most-cited sources were agencies’ own ranked listicles — including one that placed itself at number one on a self-published metric (“AI Visibility Score 4.9/5”).
